Video Analysis & Reconstruction
JRLA uses video to document sites and other evidence and as an analysis tool to evaluate vehicle motion paths and site conditions.

JRLA uses high-definition video to document sites and other evidence. We also reconstruct collisions and determine speeds, times, and distances from security and locomotive videos using computer reverse projection photogrammetry.
In many cases video is the best way to portray the dynamics of a collision site such as a driver's approach to the site and the interaction with site features such as traffic control devices and sight obstructions. We use video analysis to measure sight distance at highway-rail grade crossings and other locations. We also video the operation of grade crossing signals to evaluate their timing and operation.
